about prematurity
For Professionals: Family Medicine IMPLICIT Network
The Family Medicine IMPLICIT Network is a multicenter collaboration of family medicine residency programs that educates family medicine residents and practicing physicians about primary prevention of low birthweight and preterm birth. The goal is to reduce the rate of preventable prematurity.

Collaborating programs promote evidence-based prenatal and preconception inerventions and use continuous quality improvement (CQI) tchniques, including frequent chart reviews and ongoing provider feedback. Interventions address asymptomatic bacteriuria, depression, smoking, bacterial vaginosis, progesterone, shortened interpregnancy intervals and domestic violence.

For more information, visit the network's Web site.

The March of Dimes is a cosponsor of the network.
