World Health Day is April 7. The theme for the day is healthy mothers and children.
The well being of societies is directly linked to the health and survival of mothers and children. When both mothers and children survive and thrive, the societies in which they live prosper.
Too many mothers and children in the world are dying or suffering from the effects of ill-health, poor nutrition and inadequate health care. Many of these deaths could be prevented using existing knowledge and affordable tools. The March of Dimes is part of the worldwide effort to improve the health of women and children.
