March of Dimes WalkAmerica on NBC Today Show

NEW YORK, APRIL 19, 2005 -- Katie Couric, co-host of NBC's "Today," greeted March of Dimes volunteers and national sponsors on-air outside the studios at Rockefeller Plaza during this morning's broadcast.  Katie donned a WalkAmerica cap and hammed it up with 6-month-old Charlie Beckert (mom Karen Beckert in red sweater).  WalkAmerica national sponsors are CIGNA, Kmart, Famous Footwear, Farmers Insurance Group, FedEx, Mead Johnson Nutritionals, Discovery Health Channel, Prevention Magazine, Arm & Hammer, and First Response.  WalkAmerica, the March of Dimes annual fund-raising event that helps saves babies, will take in most communities the weekend of April 30-May 1.  You can register by visiting walkamerica.org or by calling 1-800-525-WALK.
