Celebrity Moms, Dads and Moms-to-Be Joined the March of Dimes to Celebrate the 2nd Annual babyLOVE on Saturday, September 29th in Beverly Hills

October 2, 2007 (Beverly Hills, CA). In celebration of the 2nd Annual babyLOVE luncheon hosted by the March of Dimes, new celebrity parents and parents-to-be showed their support for keeping babies healthy on September 29, 2007 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel's International Ballroom. March of Dimes presented the Golden Rattle Award to activist/producer/mother Nina Montee-Karp and her husband, Dr. Harvey Karp, pediatric physician and Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at UCLA, for their continued effort in giving every baby a healthy start. babyLOVE also recognized the 2007 Stork Club: a group of high profile and celebrity expectant parents and new parents, who serve as role models for the March of Dimes commitment of love and hope for healthy babies.

The event, sponsored by A Pea in the Pod®, CIGNA and The Stride Right Children's Group with media sponsors, Angeleno and Variety, began at 11 a.m. with all attendees shopping at the babyLOVE boutique, with 25% of purchases benefiting the March of Dimes, featuring items from Born Free, StorkSak, Homemade Baby, Jacks Scrapbooks, Baby Lu Lu, Baby Plus, Kidcosmic, Nature's Baby Organics, Nui Water, Jennifer Moore Jewelry, Time Out Spots/O Yikes, Caden Lane and Two Owls.  They also took time to bid on a room full of silent auction, including favorites from Smashbox Cosmetics, Thea Segal Designs, A Pea in the Pod Wardrobe, G-Luxe, and many others.

Over 300 guests and supporters of the March of Dimes attended this year's babyLOVE, including pregnant Melissa Joan Hart, Kellie Martin and 10 month old daughter Maggie, pregnant Constance Zimmer, Fred Savage and son Oliver, Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, who is expecting twin boys in November, Julie Bowen and son Oliver, Alimi and Dahn Ballard, due any day with their second child, Keisha Epps, pregnant with baby number two for her and her husband Omar, Jodie Sweetin, who is expecting her first child in April, Lauren Holly and son Henry, Diane Farr and son Beckett, Nicole Sullivan and husband Jason Packham with son Dashel,  and Jennifer Lynch and her husband, who are expecting their first during the holiday season. Mistress of ceremonies was Fox 11's, Christine Devine with Melissa Joan Hart and Kellie Martin serving as this year's co-chairs.  Rebecca Matthias, owner & CEO of A Pea in The Pod ® also spoke to the attendees on her company's commitment to March of Dimes mission.
 
The March of Dimes was founded in 1938 by Franklin D. Roosevelt. Since then, the March of Dimes has had seven decades of success in saving babies beginning in the 1950s with their development of the Salk Polio vaccine that led to the elimination of Polio in the United States . Their endless research has aided in countless advances in medical technology that prevent premature births and birth defects and save babies lives everyday. Throughout the years, the March of Dimes has had great support from Hollywood . Past spokespeople include Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, and many others. Proceeds from babyLOVE benefit the March of Dimes mission to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.

The March of Dimes is a national voluntary health agency whose mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. Founded in 1938, the March of Dimes funds programs of research, community services, education and advocacy to save babies and in 2003 launched a campaign to address the increasing rate of premature birth.
