"Today" Co-Anchor Greets March for Babies Volunteers

NEW YORK, APRIL 15, 2008 – “NBC Today” co-anchor Meredith Viera (right) greeted March of Dimes volunteers this morning during an outdoor segment in Rockefeller Plaza.  The group included moms, dads, babies and corporate sponsors who are participating this month in March for Babies SM , which raises money to give babies a healthy start in life.  March for Babies takes place the last weekend in April in most communities nationwide.  Amy Lynch (left) of Long Island, NY and her adorable son Jack, who’s just about to turn age 1, got a special hello from Ms. Viera.  Jack was born about 3 months prematurely, and his mom was so impressed by the help she received from the March of Dimes that she has become an enthusiastic volunteer.  To register for the event, go to marchforbabies.org.

The March of Dimes is the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health.  With chapters nationwide and its premier event, March for Babies, the March of Dimes works to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
