For more than 70 years, the March of Dimes and the VFW and Ladies Auxiliary VFW have part-nered to ensure the health of America’s babies. Together, we help moms have full-term pregnancies and healthy babies. We are focused on fostering the health and well-being of our nation’s families — including those who serve our country every day.
Mission: Healthy Baby
During this time of conflict on foreign shores, many military families are far from home and the support of their relatives and friends. Those who are pregnant or thinking about expanding their families may find this a particularly stressful time. To address this, the March of Dimes and the VFW and Ladies Auxiliary VFW have partnered to create Mission: Healthy Baby, a newsletter providing free information and support services that focuses on pregnancy and newborn health especially for military families. Click here to read the latest edition of Mission: Healthy Baby. E-mail your comments, questions and suggestions to us at mhb@marchofdimes.com. We look forward to hearing from you!
Toy Soldiers
In addition to their participation in March for Babies, the VFW supports the March of Dimes through its Toy Soldiers cut-out campaign. VFW Posts around the country sell “Toy Soldiers” for a minimum donation to the March of Dimes. Money raised is used to fund important research and programs that help moms have full-term pregnancies and babies begin healthy lives. Funds are also used to bring comfort and information to families whose baby was born too soon, or sick.
