March of Dimes
The March of Dimes and Biomedical Research

Why We Support Biomedical Research

The March of Dimes funds programs of education, community services, advocacy, and biomedical research in order to fulfill its mission to improve the health of babies.

Biomedical research grants funded by the March of Dimes use several different approaches to advance the understanding of birth defects, prematurity, and other fatal or disabling conditions.  Examples of these include cell, tissue and organ cultures, computer technology, epidemiologic (human population) studies, clinical studies, and studies using laboratory animals.
