March of Dimes President Dr. Jennifer L. Howse Panelist for Women's Business Conference

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., MAY 24, 2002—March of Dimes President Dr. Jennifer L. Howse will discuss how women become senior executives, at the National Association of Female Executives and Working Mother Media 30th Annual Conference on June 1 in New York City.
Dr. Howse will be one of the three panelists for ‘Town Hall: Measuring our Progress: The Leadership Pipeline.’ The forum will focus on: women in senior leadership positions; what it takes for women to succeed in business; the challenges women have overcome in the business world; and which challenges remain.
Other panel members are Virginia Coleman Drosos, general manager for Procter & Gamble’s Global Olay; and Elizabeth Smith, general manager and director for IBM. Betty Spence, NAFE President, will moderate.
The NAFE conference will be held at the Crowne Plaza Times Square and will feature a number of workshops and discussions led by female executives. The keynote speaker will be Pat Mitchell, president and chief executive officer of PBS.
“This forum is a unique way for all of us to discuss the challenges and accomplishments we have made in the business world," Dr. Howse said “and to share insights about the important role the March of Dimes plays in women’s lives."
The December/January 2002 issue of Worth Magazine cited the March of Dimes as one of the country’s 100 best charities, and Campbell Research has cited the Foundation as one of the top five organizations chosen by donors as ‘doing the best job; among health, medical and hospital charities.
