Stress and Pregnancy Featured at Working Mother Conference in NYC

New York, NY, Oct. 10, 2001 – Some 500 human resource professionals are expected to attend today’s Working Mother WorkLife Congress 2001, where exhibitors including the March of Dimes will offer advice for employees in crisis following the Sept. 11 tragedy.

"Mothers-to-be in the workforce may find this a trying time," says Donald R. Mattison, M.D., March of Dimes medical director. " We want to reassure them that most pregnancies result in healthy babies but expectant mothers must remember to take good care of themselves during these days of stress."

March of Dimes representatives will be on hand to talk with company staffers about how pregnant women can manage stress as well as the need for folic acid before and during pregnancy and the signs of pre-term labor.

Others expected to take part in the conference at the New York Hilton today are: Carol Evans, CEO and president, Working Mother Media and a selected group of CEOs from the 100 Best Companies for Working Mothers as chosen by the magazine.
