March of Dimes President Receives CDC Directors Distinguished Service Award

Dr. Jennifer L. Howse, president of the March of Dimes, second from left, receives the CDC Directors Distinguished Service Award on September 18, 2002 in a ceremony in Atlanta.  The March of Dimes led the effort to create the new National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities (NCBDDD), which recently opened as the seventh of the Centers that make up the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
