TITLE: Director March for Babies
REPORTS TO: State Director
LOCATION: Atlanta, GA
REASON FOR OPENING: Replacement
POSITION PURPOSE:
This position leads Chapter March for Babies program to include: development of teams, sponsorship and other revenue, volunteer leadership recruitment, planning, materials, training and staff management.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directly supervise Greater Metro Atlanta March for Babies team (staff & budget)
- 9 staff, 4 march sites with budget of almost $4 million dollars
- Develop and execute Chapter strategic plan for March for Babies to include: teams, sponsorship, promotions and walker retention. Georgia Chapter March for Babies budget - $6.8 million +
- Recruit, develop and manage National and Chapter team process.
- Recruit and develop high level volunteer leaders.
- Prospect and secure new corporate sponsorships and renew/upgrade existing sponsors.
- Lead the growth of the March for Babies program for the Georgia Chapter including volunteer & staff development and training.
- Help coordinate the use of the Chapter Walk Management System (CWMS) and other systems to manage information, data and money for the Georgia Chapter.
- Coordinate ordering for items such as incentives and help ensure uniformity of materials Chapterwide.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Min.5 years job related experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Experience in fundraising, event planning, corporate sponsorship recruitment, volunteer and staff management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving, planning, presentation, implementation, teambuilding, and computer skills.
- Proficiency in budget management, presentation and negotiation skills, and managing/motivating staff and volunteers to achieve established goals.
