Glastonbury, CT, January 09, 2012 — This spring, thousands of families and business leaders will join together in the March of Dimes annual March for Babies—the nation’s oldest walk fundraiser honoring babies born healthy and those who need help to survive and thrive.  Nine events will take place across the state on April 29, May 5 and May 6, aiming to raise $1.2 million.

March for Babies is the March of Dimes largest annual fundraiser nationwide, raising $2 billion since its start in 1970.  Funds raised helps moms have healthy, full-term pregnancies, fund research to find answers to the problems that threaten babies’ lives, and provide comfort to families who have a baby in neonatal intensive care.

2012 March for Babies dates and locations are:  

Sunday, April 29
Danbury – Matrix Corporate Center (new location)
Middletown – Union Park/South Green (new location)
Mystic – Olde Mistick Village (new location)
New Haven – Lighthouse Point Park  

Saturday, May 5
Fairfield – Penfield Pavilion (new location)
New Britain – Walnut Hill Park

East Hartford – Rentschler Field
Middlebury – Quassy Amusement Park
Stamford – Commons Park at Harbor Point

To register for March for Babies, visit marchforbabies.org or the Connecticut Chapter.  All walkers who raise $200 or more will receive an event t-shirt and those raising $350 or more will have the choice of a Macy’s or Kmart gift card.  Connecticut walkers may also fundraise for a chance to win other incentives throughout the spring, including an iPod Touch, a Kindle Fire, and a trip for two with airfare to Puerto Rico.
