Cedar Rapids, Iowa, June 14, 2012 —

Joe and Shelby Schumacher of Team Schumacher in Dubuque were the lucky recipients of an iPad 3 as part of a contest hosted by the March of Dimes Iowa Chapter. In support of their annual fundraising walk, March for Babies, the chapter asked walkers to register online at marchforbabies.org and raise $500 or more in credit/debit card donations via the website by June 1.

80 walkers qualified for the drawing and the Schumachers names were drawn randomly. The Schumachers served as the 2010 NEIA March for Babies Ambassador Family. Click here to to learn more about why they have joined the fight to save babies by participating in March for Babies.

The Iowa Chapter raised $1.16 million during its 2012 March for Babies campaign and continues to raise funds. Funds are invested in research, community services, education and advocacy for Iowa's babies. The March of Dimes currently funds nearly $3 million in research grants at the University of Iowa focused on premature birth, birth defects and infant mortality.
