Stork’s Nest Promotes Prenatal Care Participation and Healthy Behaviors

Stork’s Nest is a cooperative project of the March of Dimes and the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Stork’s Nest is a community-based, prenatal health promotion program for pregnant women.  The program is designed to promote prenatal care participation and healthy behaviors during pregnancy through two components—incentives and education.  Stork’s Nest clients earn points by attending their prenatal appointments and by attending classes taught at Stork’s Nest about how to be healthy throughout pregnancy.  Moms may also receive points for attending other health promotion activities in the community and for keeping well-baby visits after the baby is born.  Women are able to shop with their points, redeeming them for baby items.
