White Plains, NY, January 03, 2013 —

In October and November, over 25,000 March of Dimes advocates and supporters added their names to a petition asking the White House to recognize the beginning of the March of Dimes 75th anniversary celebration on January 3, 2013. Thanks to your commitment, the White House has responded with a special Presidential message of commendation recognizing the anniversary year.

You’ll receive more updates throughout this year about special anniversary activities, including advocacy efforts built upon the 75th anniversary. Our Ambassador Family will be meeting with President Obama, and the March of Dimes will be promoting important legislation in Congress and state legislatures. Our work will include key efforts to advance prematurity initiatives, birth defects testing, health coverage and much more.

The March of Dimes looks forward to working with the White House, all members of Congress, and bipartisan legislators at the state and community level to improve the health of women, infants, children and families over the coming year. Together, we’ll make 2013 a banner year for March of Dimes advocacy!
