    Most common questions

What continuing education opportunities do you offer for perinatal nurses?

Nurses can earn continuing education credits through March of Dimes print and online materials. Topics include cultural competence, preterm labor and birth, breastfeeding, obstetrical emergencies, abuse during pregnancy, infertility, diabetes in pregnancy, genetics and perinatal loss. The March of Dimes has provider status through the New York State Nurses Association and the California Board of Registered Nursing. For more information, visit our nursing education Web site.

Does the March of Dimes offer professional education on preterm labor and birth?

Yes. The March of Dimes Compendium on Preterm Birth is an online curriculum for health professionals about how to detect patients at risk for early delivery and assess behaviors that trigger premature birth. We also offer grand rounds and nursing education modules that address preterm labor and birth.

Does the March of Dimes support grand rounds?

Yes. The March of Dimes grand rounds program provides continuing education for perinatal health care providers on topics relevant to the March of Dimes mission: prevention of infant mortality, birth defects and preterm birth. Grand rounds strengthen the relationship between local March of Dimes chapters and the medical, nursing and public health communities. For more information, contact your local March of Dimes chapter.
