Touch A Truck is Rhode Island’s new favorite family activity!  Come join hundreds of local families as they experience cool, unique, large and fun vehicles from around the region.  Dump trucks, racecars, fire trucks and classic cars are just a few of many types of vehicles that will be at each event.  Touch A Truck gives the young (and the young at heart) the opportunity to touch, sit in and experience these awesome vehicles up close and personally.

This year, March of Dimes Rhode Island will be holding its Touch A Truck Series in four locations in Rhode Island and Massachusetts:

Seekonk Speedway, Seekonk, MA, Sunday, May 17, 2009 – Seekonk Speedway, located just 10 minutes from Providence, RI, is one of the premier small race tracks in New England.  It will play host to the first of the four events on Sunday, May 17, 2009.  From 10am to 3pm, up to 80 vehicles will line the track.  There are plans for all classes of race vehicles that operate at the track to be represented along with commercial, military, specialty and antique vehicles from around the region.
Parking will be $10 with free entrance after that.

Ft. Adams State Park, Newport, RI, Saturday, June 6, 2009 – Ft. Adams, located in historic Newport, is a favorite destination among tourists and locals alike.  The March of Dimes Touch A Truck would take place in conjunction with Ft. Adams’ already popular Family Day, an event that regularly attracts between 3,000 to 4,000 visitors with games, live entertainment and displays.  From 11am to 4pm, between 40 and 60 vehicles will be on hand from around the region.
This is a FREE event and we will have a table at the entrance asking for a $3 suggested donation per person.

Warwick Mall, Warwick, RI, Saturday, July 25, 2009 – One of Rhode Island’s premier retail locations, Warwick Mall is host to over 85 businesses and public services.  Between 40 and 60 vehicles are expected to be present between 11am and 4pm that day.
This will be a FREE event, though we will ask for a $3 suggested donation per person.

Ninigret State Park, Charlestown, RI, Sunday, August 23, 2009 – Located in scenic Charlestown and home to a former Navy airfield, Ninigret State Park is a natural home for a Touch A Truck event.  Expect to see Coast Guard vessels, tractor pullers and antique fire trucks amongst the 100 to 125 vehicles expected to be present between 3pm and 7pm.  This event will cap off the series.
Parking will be $10 for this event with free entrance after that.
