March of Dimes Rhode Island salutes Deborah Thomas, CFO Hasbro, Inc., as Citizen of the Year!

 

Play is important to children, and no one recognizes this more than our friends at Hasbro, Inc. However, few people may know that Candy Land, a popular Hasbro game, was invented by a hospitalized woman recovering from polio. Eleanor Abbot knew only too well how important it was to bring play to children who could not run or walk.

The March of Dimes was founded more than 70 years ago to bring an end to the crippling disease of polio. Throughout the years, from polio to prematurity, the March of Dimes continues to support families. And Hasbro’s Candy Land continues to entertain millions of kids.
