March of Dimes and Columbia Police Department
“Jail or Bail” Event Success

Columbia Police and March of Dimes were able to surpass their goal of $5000 during the “Jail or Bail” event that was held today at the Columbia Police Department.
Columbia Police Chief Tandy Carter stated “With our friends from the media, business community, local churches, local citizens and our own Officers and Mayor Coble we were able to raise over $5,100 at the conclusion of the two hour event. But we expect more donations to come in over the next week”.
The Columbia Police and the March of Dimes arrested 15-20 jailbirds during the event. During their incarceration the “jailbirds” were provided moderate accommodations while they raised their bail money.
The March of Dimes and the Columbia Police Department would like to thank all their jailbirds and those who made donations to help improve the lives of babies and families in our community.
