Spartanburg Leadership Breakfast
Gibbs Cancer Center, Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System
We invite you to join us and other key Business leaders in Spartanburg for a Leadership Breakfast on Thursday, January 24, 2008, 7:30-8:30 am at the Gibbs Cancer Center.
Please come to network, to learn more about the new March for Babies 2008, formerly WalkAmerica, and how your business can take a proactive approach to saving South Carolina’s babies and supporting thousands of South Carolina families affected by pre-maturity, infant mortality, and birth defects.
As members of the Spartanburg Community, we are pleased to support the March of Dimes mission. One in 8 babies is born pre-maturely, this silent epidemic is comparable to the number of women stricken by breast cancer. In an average week in South Carolina, 168 babies are born preterm, 8,700 a year. The African America community is severely affected with nearly double the numbers of pre-term births and infant mortality as other ethnic groups. The impact upon our families, health care, education system, quality of life and businesses is serious.
We look forward to seeing you January 24 when, together, we can address this issue and demonstrate our commitment to the infants and families of our community.
If you have any questions, please contact Mary Mathes, Chairman, 2008 Spartanburg March For Babies at 864-560-6837, or Tom Whalen, Vice Chairman, 2008 Spartanburg March For Babies at 864-599-3111.
Kindly RSVP before January 22, 2008 to the March of Dimes, Attn: Lisette Gardenier Dimitrew at 864-235-8576, or by e-mail at MDimitrew@marchofdimes.com
