John Roche, USC Gamecock Marvel, in Columbia for Autograph Signing - Feb. 16th only
Tickets on Sale Friday, January 18
The March of Dimes is pleased to announce a very special one-time fundraising event taking place in Columbia on Saturday, February 16th at Safran’s Antiques located at 1015 Whaley Street in Columbia.
John Roche, USC Gamecock marvel, who played basketball during the late 1960’s and early 1970’s under legendary Hall of Fame coach Frank McGuire, has agreed to participate in an autograph signing event to benefit the March of Dimes. His appearance is in conjunction with the 100th anniversary celebration of Carolina basketball.
John Roche played on the only ACC Championship team in USC history. He was the starting point guard on a team that featured Bobby Cremins, Tom Owens and others. His number “11” has since been retired by the school.
Mr. Roche also holds the distinction of being the only athlete in USC history to grace the cover of Sports Illustrated. He continued his basketball career in the ABA and NBA following his Gamecock years. He now lives in Denver, Colorado and is an attorney at Snell & Wilmer Law Offices.
The one-hour autograph session will be held at Safran’s Antiques and Collectibles at 1015 Whaley street, in the Vista in downtown Columbia. The event will start at 11 a.m. on Feb 16th.
Tickets are available on a limited basis, starting Friday, January 18th. Tickets are $25 for a John Roche autograph and $50 for a personalized message with the autograph. All autographs will be on a first-come, first served basis and all proceeds benefit the March of Dimes. Tickets are limited to 2 per person.
Tickets will be available at Safran’s (11AM to 5PM Tuesday through Saturday) or at the March of Dimes office (9AM to 5PM Monday through Friday) at 240 Stoneridge Drive, Suite 206, Columbia SC 29210.
