Why Support the March of Dimes?

NICU Families Needed to Provide Guidance for our NICU Family Support Project

NICU Family Support Project: Seeking volunteers in the Upstate area to assist with our NICU Family Support Program at Greenville Memorial Hospital.  Volunteer opportunities include assembling and handing out support materials to NICU families, helping coordinate sibling and parent activities, increasing awareness, gathering donations, etc.  Families who have themselves had a child in the NICU are especially needed to lend their expertise in guiding our program to be most effective for the families we work to support during this difficult time.  For more information, contact Katie Tomlinson at ktomlinson@marchofdimes.com or 864-455-1687.

Volunteers are the driving force behind the foundation, giving generously of their time and talent to serve in a variety of ways.  Currently we also need the following volunteers:

Communications:  Seeking communications professionals from the Columbia area to help with marketing communications/public relations planning, graphic design and layout, writing, editing and proofreading, and media planning.   Variety of short and long-term positions available to assist with projects to build awareness of the March of Dimes mission and materials to support fundraising events.   Some on-site meetings may be required, but work may be completed outside of the March of Dimes office.  Please reply by email:  JApel@marchofdimes.com

Program Services:  Seeking professionals state-wide to serve on our Program Services Committees.   Individuals with maternal child health, public health, rural health, social work, and/or grant writing experience needed to assist with advancing March of Dimes mission in South Carolina.  Activities include grant reviews, outreach and awareness activities, healthcare education efforts, and more.   If interested, contact Jessica Mullen at 803-252-5200 or by email:  jmullen@marchofdimes.com

March for Babies 2008 Planning Committees: Volunteers are needed in communities across the state to sell sponsorship opportunities, recruit volunteers and new teams, and to plan and implement kick off, rally and walk day activities.

Special Event Volunteers in Columbia:  There are many opportunities available for involvement with the Signature Chefs Auctions, the Real Estate Awards Breakfasts and the African American Achievement Awards Breakfast. Join one of the planning committees or help the day of the event.

Graphic Designers:  We need a graphic designer who can modify files created with InDesign and other Adobe programs. Also looking for someone who would like to create newsletters, ads and collateral materials.

For detailed information , call the March of Dimes office at 803-252-5200 or e-mail  SC447@marchofdimes.com
