March of Dimes Nurse of the Year Award
The March of Dimes Nurse of the Year Award recognizes the registered nurse who exhibits compassion for his/her patients and families, and a commitment to nursing.  This nurse serves as an advocate or role model within the health care setting for other nurses and medical professionals and participates in community or organizational activities. 
Criteria:
- The nominee is a registered nurse practicing in the maternal/child health field for a minimum of 2 years and is currently practicing in South Dakota.
- The nominee exemplifies a commitment to his/her patients and their families. 
- The nominee demonstrates a solid understanding and knowledge of nursing practices.
- The nominee serves as a role model, advocate, leader, etc.

Nomination Process:
Nominator must complete a nomination form and submit it to the March of Dimes by July 31, 2008.  Nominee will be notified in August 2008 and will receive a year membership to the SD Perinatal Association as well as his/her registration fee paid for the 2008 SD Perinatal Association conference September 18-19 in Pierre.
