Spotlight on Kristin Fowles
If anyone had told Kristin that she would become a "political activist," she would have scoffed and said "No, that's not my thing." But that was before she had two children born with birth defects. Thrown into a new arena, she became an expert and works on behalf of her own children, as well as for other families. An active March of Dimes volunteer, she has testified before the state legislature for funding of the Utah Birth Defect Network to continue its surveillance work in the state and lobbied on Capitol Hill. And still, she describes herself as "just a mom."
