Serving more than 700 families a year, March of Dimes NICU Family Support at Christiana Hospital in Delaware is a vital program, and Megan McGlinchey knows it. Despite a difficult fiscal environment, Megan used her strong relationships with state legislators to advocate for the funding the program receives from the state. By stressing the importance of the program, the legislators were very receptive, and subsequently supported a motion not to cut funding for nonprofit agencies that perform direct services. As a direct result of Megan's work, $24,200 funding was secured for 2010.
