Get Involved

Since its beginning, the March of Dimes has depended on the gererosity of people like you to carry out its mission of saving babies. Volunteers are the driving force behind the foundation, giving gererously of their time and talent to serve in a variety of ways.

Here are just a few ways you can get involved:

Raise money for March for Babies and Jail and Bail.
Signature Chefs Auction or Golf Tournaments.
Take part in community programs in Tennessee that are sponsored by the March of Dimes.

NICU Families Needed to Provide Guidance for our NICU Family Support Project NICU Family Support Project: Seeking volunteers in the Memphis area to assist with our NICU Family Support Program at the Regional Medical Center.  Volunteer opportunities include assembling and handing out support materials to NICU families, helping coordinate sibling and parent activities, increasing awareness, gathering donations, etc.  Families who have themselves had a child in the NICU are especially needed to lend their expertise in guiding our program to be most effective for the families we work to support during this difficult time.  For more information, contact Karen Hill at khill@marchofdimes.com or 901-545-8957.            

Volunteers are the driving force behind the foundation, giving generously of their time and talent to serve in a variety of ways.  Currently we also need the following volunteers:            

Communications:  Seeking communications professionals from the Nashville area to help with marketing communications/public relations planning, graphic design and layout, writing, editing and proofreading, and media planning.   Variety of short and long-term positions available to assist with projects to build awareness of the March of Dimes mission and materials to support fundraising events.   Some on-site meetings may be required, but work may be completed outside of the March of Dimes office.  Please reply by email Todd Grantham or call 615-399-3200 ext. *12


Program Services:  Seeking professionals state-wide to serve on our Program Services Committees.   Individuals with maternal child health, public health, rural health, social work, and/or grant writing experience needed to assist with advancing March of Dimes mission in South Carolina.  Activities include grant reviews, outreach and awareness activities, healthcare education efforts, and more.   If interested, contact Valencia Nelson at 901-385-8580 or by email:  vnelson@marchofdimes.com            

March for Babies 2010 Planning Committees: Volunteers are needed in communities across the state to sell sponsorship opportunities, recruit volunteers and new teams, and to plan and implement kick off, rally and walk day activities.  Reach out to your local office for more details.             

Special Event Volunteers:  There are many opportunities available across the state for involvement with the Signature Chefs Auctions, Golf Tournaments, and Testimonials.  Join one of the planning committees or help the day of the event.  Reach out to your local office for more details.            

Graphic Designers:  We need a graphic designer who can modify files created with InDesign and other Adobe programs. Also looking for someone who would like to create newsletters, ads and collateral materials.  For detailed information , email Todd Grantham or call at 615-399-3200 ext.*12.

Participate

Funds for March of Dimes research, education, advocacy and community programs are generated through fundraising events. Participants purchase tickets to dinners, awards programs or solicit donations from friends and associates for events like March for Babies, Bikers for Babies, and Signature Chef Auction.

Several clubs and organizations partner with the March of Dimes to help further our mission. These groups participate in fundraising events and program activities that reach out to the community.
