The March of Dimes Tennessee Chapter is pleased to have a program designed to support families with a baby in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The NICU Family Support is part of the March of Dimes Prematurity Campaign. The Tennessee Chapter's NICU Family Support project is located at the Regional Medical Center (The Med) in Memphis, TN
NICU Family Support
NICU Family Support is a comprehensive set of services aimed at 1) providing information and comfort to NICU families during the NICU hospitalization of their newborn during the transition home, and in the event of a newborn death; 2) contributing the NICU staff professional development; and 3) promoting the philosophy of family-centered-care through the NICU.
Each NICU Family Support Package consists of two components:
1) a March of Dimes NICU Family Support Information System
2) NICU Staff Professional Development
The NICU Family Support Project was highlighted in the March 2010 issue of RESOURCE.
