TITLE: Communications Intern
REPORTS TO: State Director of Communications
LOCATION: Tennessee Chapter Office - Nashville
REASON FOR OPENING: Replacement
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Communications Intern works directly with the State Director of Communications to utilize publicity and advertising to achieve budget on fundraising events, position premature birth as a leading health issue in Tennessee, and position the March of Dimes as the leader in maternal and infant health.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): writing and distribution of media alerts, news releases, and sponsorship proposals; development and maintenance of media and marketing database; design and development of media kits; media follow-up; creation of media reports; PSA distribution and placement; and planning and providing support at special events.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
In order to qualify, students must have completed the sophomore year and have one of the following academic majors: communications, telecommunications, public relations, marketing or journalism.
