Memphis Adult Soccer Tournament (RIBS) and Rylee’s Run 5K

From Jessica Vinson, March of Dimes Team Leader - Greetings from Memphis, Tennessee! We will be holding an adult 7v7 tournament where all proceeds are donated to the March of Dimes. Last year, we exceeded our goal and raised over $11,000 for this wonderful cause. My husband and I have played in GMSA (Greater Memphis Soccer Association), our local adult league, for over 12 years. GMSA and my family wanted to support an important organization and honor our daughter, Rylee, who passed away in 2007 due to complications of prematurity, and also celebrate the safe, full-term arrival of our second daughter, Kayden, born in 2010. We are honored at this opportunity to raise awareness for a good cause in the hopes that "one day, all babies will be born healthy". We would like to invite you to attend the River City for Itty-Bitties ("RIBS") 7v7 Soccer Tournament in Memphis, Tennessee.
Join us for a great weekend of soccer at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex, the premier soccer facility in the Mid-South, the weekend of May 19-20, 2012. Men's, women's, and coed divisions with competitive, recreational, and over-30 flights are planned for each division. Registration is only $250 per team, minimum of 11 players; each team is guaranteed at least three games! All participants will receive a free tournament t-shirt, with additional prizes and giveaways for each division winner! For full tournament details, click here. NEW THIS YEAR! If you can't play in the tournament but would still like to be a part of the weekend and support the March Of Dimes (or if you're a player who's just a glutton for punishment), then plan to join us on Friday night, May 18th at 7:00 pm for "Rylee's Run" 5K! This ALL-AGES event will be held on the course at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex, and is sanctioned by the Memphis Runner's Track Club. All proceeds from this event will also go directly to the March Of Dimes. Registration is $25 in advance, or $30 on the day of the race. All participants who register by Tuesday, May 1st are guaranteed a Rylee's Run 5K Dri-Fit shirt, with additional prizes for the winners of each age division!
For those of you coming to the tournament from out of town, one added bonus is that this year's tourney falls on the same weekend as the world famous Memphis In May Bar-B-Q Cooking Contest! So come a day early if you can, head down to the riverfront at Tom Lee Park, check out the fun, then come burn off all those calories Saturday & Sunday!
