March of Dimes Helps Health Care Providers in Texas Comply with SB316
|
| In 2005, the Texas Legislature passed SB316 which requires health care providers in Texas to give information on four health topics to parents either during the prenatal period or in the hospital after a baby is born. The four topics are Newborn Screening, Immunizations, Postpartum Depression and Shaken Baby Syndrome. The March of Dimes has educational resources that can allow health care providers to comply with this legislation. The documents provided below cover all four of the mandated topics and have been approved by the Texas Pediatric Society for use with SB316. Please feel free to print these documents and distribute them to your patients. You can also take these files to a printer if larger quantities are needed. We would like to know if you are using these documents. Please send an email message to Amye Webster with the March of Dimes Texas Chapter at awebster@marchofdimes.com and let her know if you will use our resource to comply with this legislation. Please let Amye know if you have recommendations as to how these documents could better meet the needs of you and your patients. March of Dimes has many other educational resources. Please contact your local March of Dimes office or visit our main website at http://www.marchofdimes.com/ for a complete listing. |
