Texas Prematurity Campaign
The March of Dimes Texas Chapter is working hard to decrease the incidences of premature births. Efforts include:
  • Recruiting more than 160 community partners to help disseminate campaign materials and messages to pregnant women, health professionals and the public.
  • Implementing 60 patient education activities reaching 42,000 pregnant women with information about the signs and symptoms of preterm labor.
  • Funding more than $2.26 million in Texas Community grants addressing issues related to prematurity.
  • Implementing 25 professional education activities reaching 2,500 health professionals with information about the risk factors for preterm labor. To learn more about resources for health professionals, click here.
  • Developing a Prematurity Toolkit to help organizations spread the word about prematurity in their communities.
  • Expanding the March of Dimes NICU Family Support project, which provides sensitive, comprehensive, informational and emotionally supportive materials and services to the parents of babies admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
