| There’s a new way to celebrate the babies in your life. The March of Dimes is bringing together friends and families—both in person and online—to honor all babies, those born healthy and those who need help to survive and thrive.
Recognizing November as Prematurity Awareness Month®,(AND NOVEMBER 13TH AS PREMATURITY AWARENESS DAY) the March of Dimes continues to lead the fight against the more than half a million premature births that occur in this country every year as well as other serious threats to infant health. As part of the November observance, everyone is invited to share their baby’s unique story.
A donated bus will travel coast-to-coast gathering baby stories in a dozen or so major markets, ending its tour in New York City on Prematurity Awareness Day, Nov. 13th. Along the way the bus, staffed by veterans of “street marketing,” will generate media coverage, raise awareness, and engage the people by inviting them to connect with other families through their baby stories.
• Tour launches at the national March of Dimes Volunteer Leadership Conference in Washington, D. C. on October 18th • Scheduled to stop in about a dozen cities across the nation, including Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Chicago before the final stop in New York City on Prematurity Awareness Day, November 13th
The goals of the tour are to travel to major cities across the country to: • to invite parents to share their stories about their babies. The primary outreach is to women who have a story to tell about a baby - those born prematurely, those born healthy, those who were lost and those whose lives hang in the balance • to gather as many of these stories as possible, placing them on marchofdimes.com/everybaby for all to enjoy • to generate public awareness through media opportunities
