Helen Person Scholarship Application

The Helen Pearson Scholarship is an award presented annually to two outstanding individuals involved in, or wishing to pursue study in the field of perinatal health care. A $1,500 award commemorates volunteer efforts and more than forty years service to both March of Dimes and Epsilon Sigma Alpha by Helen Pearson.

Fields of Study	General Eligibility
Nursing/Nurse Midwifery	Resident of Texas - 1 year
Occupational Therapy	Interest in the perinatal health care field
Pediatric Physical Therapy	Must attend Texas college/university
Pediatric Respiratory Therapy	High school graduate
Pediatric Pre-Osteopathy	Maintain a minimum “B” grade point average
Pediatric Pre-Medicine
Nutrition (M/CH)

SCHOLARSHIP: $1,500.00 - Two $750 checks will be issued, made payable to the recipient/institution. The award is to be used for tuition, fees and books only. Winner will be notified by May.

CRITERIA: Applications will be judged on the following: Financial Need (25%), Grades (35%), Community Service (15%), Employment (10%), and Leadership qualities (15%). All applications much include all supporting documentation in order to be considered complete. All documentation must be typed. Applicants must be enrolled in school for two full semesters.
