November is Prematurity Awareness Month

Every parent wants a healthy baby. But it doesn’t always happen that way. One in 8 babies is born too soon. An early birthday puts these babies at a high risk of serious health problems and lifelong disabilities. Some are so sick that they never make it home. Help give babies at least 39 weeks.

Each year in Texas…

    •    More than 400,000 babies are born
    •    53,295 babies are born preterm (less than 37 completed weeks gestation)
    •    2,478 babies die before reaching their first birthday

The March of Dimes has dedicated November to raising awareness of premature birth and mobilizing support so 1 in 8 can one day become none in 8. Your support of Prematurity Awareness Month shows your employees, customers, vendors and others that you care about the health of their families. Awareness is the first step to solving the problem of premature birth.
