Why Support the March of Dimes?

Because we're about all babies, those born healthy and those who need help to survive and thrive. We're Mom's greatest fan and her caring fiend. We're Mom's resource throuhout her childbearing years- preconception, pregnancy and after she's had her baby.

For 65 years, the March of Dimes has depended on the generosity of people like you to carry out its mission of preventing infant mortality and birth defects. Volunteers are the driving force behind the foundation, giving generously of their time and talent to serve in a variety of ways.

Here are just a few ways you can get involved:

  • Volunteer and raise dollars through local events such as WalkAmerica
  • Participate in advocacy efforts related to maternal, infant and child health issues in Washington and/or the country
  • Help with phone calls, mailings or clerical tasks in the March of Dimes office

If you are interested in volunteering with the March of Dimes, please e-mail us or call us at (206) 624-1373.

Funds for March of Dimes research, education, advocacy and community programs are generated through fundraising events. Participants purchase tickets to dinners, awards programs or solicit donations from friends and associates for events like WalkAmerica, Jail and Bail and Celebrity Chefs.

Volunteers can also participate in program activities such as outreach at health fairs or planning workshops for pregnant women.

March of Dimes Ambassadors are children who have benefited from March of Dimes research or programs.  Ambassadors and their families play a vital role in spreading the word about the March of Dimes, our accomplishments and the work yet to be done.  Ambassador families share their stories with the media and audiences at March of Dimes speaking engagements, including fundraising events.
