2013 March for Babies Kickoff & 75th Anniversary Celebration

Puget Sound residents gather at the Bell Harbor Conference Center in Seattle to mark the start of the March for Babies fundraising season as well as the March of Dimes 75th anniversary. Raising money for Puget Sound babies is more important than ever. Past and new participants will discuss how to best energize the community and engage more people than ever before.

March for Babies is the March of Dimes’ largest fundraiser, with 8,000 walkers bringing in more than $1.6 million in Washington state last year.

    WHY:

In Washington, more than 8,500 babies are born too soon each year. Premature babies often spend weeks in the NICU fighting for life, and often have lasting disabilities due to being born before they’re ready.

March of Dimes is the champion for all babies, those born healthy and those who need help to survive and thrive. Moms can rely on March of Dimes for everything they need to know about having a healthy baby before, during and after pregnancy.

This year, the March of Dimes celebrates its 75th anniversary and its ongoing work to help all babies get a healthy start in life.  More than 4 million babies were born in the United States last year, and the March of Dimes has helped each and every one through research, education, vaccines and breakthroughs.
