Maternal Screening Becomes Law in WV!

Flanked by supporters, Governor Joe Manchin signs the West Virginia Maternal Screening Act into law. This law establishes an advisory council on maternal risk assessment within the Office of Maternal, Child and Family Health. The Department of Health and Human Resources will have rule-making authority to develop a uniform maternal risk screening tool to serve as an alert to medical care providers of the need for greater evaluation and assessment of high-risk pregnancies
