Newborn Screening—The Chapter will lead the effort to expand the state’s newborn screening panel to the full 29 core metabolic and functional conditions.

Access to Care— The Chapter will lead the effort to protect Medicaid and the state’s children’s health insurance program from cuts in funding.

Wins:

1)  The West Virginia Chapter worked to secure legislation to mandate expansion of the state’s newborn screening program to the full 29 “core” conditions.

2) The West Virginia Chapter worked to secure $460,000 to implement expanded newborn screening in the State.
