    Program Service/Public Affairs Coordinator, Casper, WY

    The Program Service/Public Affairs Coordinator administers and oversees all March of Dimes program services and public affairs activities in Wyoming, including: planning, implementing and evaluating activities in public and professional health education; grants, community service, interaction with the state legislature and volunteer development; and support of families with infants transferred to neonatal intensive care units (NICU).

    Position responsibilities:

    • Establish a strong volunteer base for program and public affairs activities
    • Cultivate relationships with perinatal health agencies in Wyoming
    • Work with volunteers to allocate Chapter community grant funds
    • Oversee the implementation of the national Prematurity Campaign
    • Work with Chapter staff to ensure integration of programs with fundraising and communication activities
    • Collaborate with staff team members to identify potential volunteers, donors and community partners to further the overall Chapter strategic plan
    • Oversee dissemination of information and education of staff and volunteers in the areas of mission, programs and public affairs
    • Ensure that the Chapter continues to meet/exceed Program, Public Affairs and NICU Family Support criteria
    • Plan and implement (with Chapter volunteers) program, legislative and regulatory public affairs plan annually, including coordinating activities and events
    • Ensure plans target the greatest MCH needs, measure outcomes and fit the strategic direction of the Chapter
    • Make certain that plans address approved Foundation-wide priorities
    • Travel as needed to attend National and Regional training and other state-wide meetings and events

    Qualifications required

    • Bachelor’s degree in public health, public administration, social work, nursing of equivalent education and expderience
    • Project management experience
    • Experience in maternal and child health preferred
    • Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate volunteers
    • Strategic planning, oral and written communication skills, analysis plus problem solving a must
    • Knowledge in program planning, grants review and grant writing
    • Experience in public affairs preferred
