The March of Dimes has a rich history of helping individuals live healthy lives. We set out to conquer polio, establish Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU’s), lower occurrences of brain and spinal cord birth defects by folic acid grain fortification and education, and ensure that newborns are screened for a minimum of 30 conditions at birth– all of which we have accomplished – and we continue to work together for stronger, healthier babies.
The March of Dimes helps moms have healthy, full term pregnancies. When something goes wrong, comfort and information is provided to families in crisis thanks to March of Dimes NICU Family Support. We fund innovative research (nearly $2 million in 2012 in Connecticut), searching for causes of preterm birth and birth defects. Our goal is simple –to prevent them from occurring -- but finding the answers is complex.
Please consider making a contribution to our 2012 Annual Fund. Every contribution, of any size, to the Annual Fund is very important (and 100% tax deductible).
At the $1,000+ level, you will become a member of the March of Dimes President's Society. You will receive a personalized acknowledgement from March of Dimes President, Dr. Jennifer L. Howse, a special pin designed for members, a listing in the national Annual Report and on Chapter honor rolls, periodic progress updates, and invitations to special activities, including the Connecticut Chapter's exclusive Spirit of Giving event.
In giving to the March of Dimes, you help us continue our vital research, education, community services and advocacy programs. Whether you are a long-time March of Dimes supporter or are giving for the first time, we could not do it without you.
