    Heroines in Technology 2013

    Heroines in Technology® is a black-tie gala that recognizes and honors women in the technology community for their dedication to community service. Since its inception, Heroines in Technology has honored 73 “Heroines” and raised more than $1.5 million to support the March of Dimes. The awards program has attracted 350-400 guests in the past. Attendees include directors, CEOs and other high-level individuals from local corporations and government agencies. The evening includes a cocktail reception, dinner and a silent and live auction.

    The 2013 Heroines in Technology winners:

    · Rising Heroine: Juli Lawless, engineer manager, TASC Inc.
    ·  Individual Heroines: Ann Albright, senior systems analyst, Booz Allen Hamilton and Karen Newnam, senior federal channel marketing manager, EMC Corporation
    ·  AFCEA International Government Heroine: Dr. Tiffani Lash, health science policy officer, National Institutes of Health and co-founder Tea & Honey Blends
    ·  Corporate Heroines: LaKeshia Grant, CEO, Virtual Enterprises, LLC. and Stephanie C. Hill, president, Lockheed Martin Informational Systems & Global Solutions Civil, Lockheed Martin
    ·  Lifetime Achievement Heroines: Shantel Nickerson, systems engineering manager, The SI Organization and Juliette Rizzo, deputy director, special projects, partnerships and events, U.S. Department of Education

    AFCEA NOVA is the event partner for Heroines in Technology.
