2013 is the 10th anniversary of the launch of the March of Dimes Prematurity Campaign and the 75th anniversary of the March of Dimes. From polio to prematurity, the March of Dimes has made a commitment protect the health of moms and babies from the most serious perinatal health problem in our nation.
In our effort to reduce preterm birth in Nevada, the March of Dimes Nevada Chapter developed the Women's Health Symposium - an educational forum for health care providers in the fields of obstetrics, labor & deliver, neonatology, pediatrics, and social work.
Now in its 10th year, the Women's Health Symposium continues to explore topics related to preconception, conception, and neonatal care. Emphasis will be placed on evidence-based interventions, treatment modalities, and quality improvement. Topics of interest include eliminating elective deliveries prior to 39 weeks, obesity in pregnancy, genetics, and reducing risk of preterm birth associated with artificial reproductive technologies.
