BALTO Edmond North High School
The tradition of BALTO Week began at Edmond North High School in 1995. This is North's most significant tradition, not only is this full of fun and excitement, but an opportunity for our school to give back to the community. The name BALTO Week is an acronym for Bring A Light To Others, and is conveniently the name of a well-known husky, which makes BALTO even more suitable considering the mighty husky is the school’s mascot.
This year Edmond North has selected the March of Dimes Oklahoma Chapter as its 2013 BALTO recipient! This money will be used to fund NICU Family Support Services and provide overall better care for premature babies and their families. Every day, 141 babies are born too soon right here in Oklahoma. Many grow up with lifelong disabilities. Some don’t survive. With your help, we can change this. Your gift provides hope and comfort to families with a baby in a local newborn intensive care unit. None of this important work could happen without the help of people who care – people like you.
