In response to the many inquiries received regarding Southwest Virgina Moms Club, The March of Dimes will be offering a two day Informational Conference for those interested in hosting, implementing or replicating the Southwest Virgina Moms Club model.
Topics covered will include: general summary of Baby Basics book, health literacy, benefits of small group interactions, applying lessons learned from SW Virginia, general options of incorporating Baby Basics into different applications - group setting, one on one, home visiting and a group facilitation skills presentation. Day two will also provide information about March of Dimes grant funding and data collection. A complete agenda will be available online soon.
This conference will be held in The Center for Childbirth and Family Education at Virginia Baptist Hospital. The center is located in the hospital on the second floor of the Barker Cowling building.
In order to supply all attendee's with a copy of the Baby Basics Pregnancy guide and planner, there will be a nominal charge of $50 to cover materials and other supplies that you may take with you following the conference. Light refreshments will be served, but lunch will be on you each day.
